The nights
What Beyond Management Rights is, and what happens in the room.
- What is Beyond Management Rights?
- An industry night for everyone connected to management rights and accommodation on the Gold Coast — owners, resident managers, frontline teams, and the providers they rely on. Between the nights it is also a directory of those providers and a news page the businesses in it write themselves.
- Who runs it?
- Marion Simon founded Beyond Management Rights and hosts it. Go Wide Events co-organises the nights, and Nexo Terra builds the website and the campaigns behind them.
- How often does it happen?
- Several times a year. Dates are announced to the list first, so the quickest way to know is to register your interest on the site.
- Where is the next one?
- The Laneway at Miami Marketta, 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami. The date is not locked in yet.
- What does it cost to attend?
- Nothing. Attendance is free by design: the point is to get the whole industry in one room, not to filter it by who can expense a ticket. There is a cash bar at the venue.
- Do I need a ticket?
- No. Register so we know roughly how many people to expect and so you get the running times, but there is no ticket and nobody is turned away at the door for not being on a list.
- Can I bring my staff and my contractors?
- Yes, and please do. Reception, caretaking, housekeeping, maintenance and the trades you work with are exactly who the night is for. Put them on the same registration.
- Is it a sales event?
- No. Exhibitors are there to be useful and to meet people properly, and the programme is built around a real conversation rather than pitches from a stage.
- What happens on the night?
- Doors, then an open hour to walk the room and meet the exhibitors. A short official opening. A panel on one subject the industry actually struggles with, then questions from the floor. Prize draws, and the room stays open afterwards.
- How long does it run?
- An evening — doors from early evening, with the programme kept deliberately short so most of the night belongs to the conversations.
- What was the 2026 panel about?
- "No Vacancy for Trouble!" — preventing, managing and responding to badly behaved or unsafe guests: refusing a check-in, ending a stay lawfully, keeping a lone worker safe after hours, writing an incident report that stands up later, and when to call police.
- Will there be photos or video?
- Yes. Parts of the evening are photographed and filmed for event coverage and future communications. If you would rather not be identifiable in that coverage, tell the registration team when you arrive and we will keep you out of it.
Getting there
- Where exactly is the venue?
- The Laneway at Miami Marketta, 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami. It is an easy run down the highway from anywhere on the Coast.
- Is there parking?
- There is street parking around the venue. It fills up on a busy evening, so leave a few minutes for it or come down on the tram.
- Can I get there on the tram?
- Yes. The closest G stop is Miami North, about 400 metres from Miami Marketta — a short walk west, away from the ocean. The G runs straight through Miami, so there is no need to change to a bus.
- Is the venue accessible?
- The Laneway is at ground level. If you have a specific access requirement, tell us when you register and we will make sure it is sorted before you arrive rather than on the night.
Exhibiting
For the businesses that want to be on the floor.
- Can my business exhibit?
- Yes, if you serve this industry. Register your interest and we will come back to you with what is available for the next night.
- What does a table cost?
- The price for the next night has not been set. The 2026 table was $330 including GST, which is the best guide we can honestly give you — the new price goes to everyone who has registered their interest before it is announced.
- What do I get with a table?
- A catering table and two chairs, a platter for the table, and a gift voucher bought on your behalf and presented as a prize on the night. Your business is also named in the event communications and on the site.
- Can two businesses from the same industry both exhibit?
- Yes. There is no category exclusivity. Attendees want to meet and compare a strong range of providers in one room, and a directory of one is no use to anyone.
- How many tables are there?
- The floor is limited by the room, which is why tables are confirmed in the order they are booked.
- Do I have to speak or present?
- No. Exhibitors are not asked to present. The only people on the microphone are the host and the panel.
- Can I sponsor the night instead?
- Event Sponsor is a separate arrangement from an exhibitor table, and there is only one. Ask us and we will tell you whether the next one is still open.
The Beyond Network
The directory of providers, open all year.
- What is the Beyond Network?
- A directory of the businesses that serve management rights and accommodation, searchable by what you need and where you are. It is for the day a building needs a plumber at 6am, a lawyer by Friday or an after-hours team by next month.
- How do I find a provider?
- Go to the Network page and search by service, business name or location, or use the filters. Every listing links straight to that business’s own website.
- Does a listing mean Beyond recommends that business?
- No, and we will not dress it up as one. A listing means the business serves this industry and asked to be listed. That is all it means.
- How do I get my business listed?
- Use the "List your business" form. Tell us what you do, where you work and how people should reach you, and we will come back to you.
- What does a listing cost?
- There is no charge to apply, and the directory is being built out now. If a listing fee is ever introduced, every listed business will be told before it starts — nobody will be billed by surprise.
- Do exhibitors get anything extra?
- A business that has exhibited at a Beyond night is marked as one on its listing. That is a factual record of being in the room, not a ranking.
- What is a featured position?
- A paid position at the top of the directory. Where a business has paid for one, its card says so in plain words, every time.
- Can I update or remove my listing?
- Yes, at any time. Tell us and we will change it or take it down. We would rather an empty row than a wrong one.
- My listing is out of date — who do I tell?
- Use the contact form, or reply to any email you have had from us. Corrections go live the same way everything else does: as soon as someone has read it.
Beyond News and Business of the Month
- What is Beyond News?
- The news page the businesses in the network write themselves: what they fixed, what they learned, what changed in the rules. It is published under their name and logo, and it is theirs to share.
- How do I get an article published?
- Send it to us. A few hundred words about something you actually did is better than a brochure — the pieces that get read are the ones that help somebody else running a building.
- Does it cost anything to be published?
- No. It costs you the time it takes to write it.
- What is Business of the Month?
- Each month one of the published pieces is named Business of the Month. That business goes to the top of the news page, keeps the badge on its article permanently, and is named in the newsletter.
- How is Business of the Month decided?
- From what was published that month: a story that genuinely helps someone else running a building, about something you did rather than something you sell.
- Can I write about my own services?
- Write about the work, not the price list. If a piece is commercial we label it as a partner insight, so a reader always knows what they are reading.
Registrations, privacy and reaching us
- I filled in a form and heard nothing. What happened?
- You should get an automatic confirmation to the address you used within a minute or two. If you did not, check the spam folder and then email us directly — we would rather hear twice than miss you.
- How do I register my interest in the next night?
- Use the "Register your interest" section on the homepage. It takes a minute, and you will hear the date, the venue and the panel before they are announced publicly.
- What do you do with my details?
- We use them to tell you about Beyond — the nights, the panel, the directory. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to exhibitors. The privacy policy sets out the whole of it.
- How do I stop hearing from you?
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works immediately. You can also just reply and ask.
- Can I leave a review of the night?
- Yes, and it is genuinely useful. There is a review form on the site, with a separate box asking whether we may publish your words with your name. Leave it unticked and your review stays between us.
- How do I get in touch?
- Email info@beyondmr.com.au, or use the contact form. Both reach the same people.
